Health and Safety / COMPANY OBJECTIVES

COMPANY OBJECTIVES
Objectives and targets for health and safety matters for the period under review as a driver for continuous improvement. These objectives and targets must include details of the resources to be allocated to health and safety, training and auditing programmes, new initiatives proposed and specific health and safety targets against which performance can be measured.
Performance will be reviewed annually, so that results will be available for publication in the Annual Report with new Objectives and Targets set by Business and be based on:

Implement a formal audit system
Implement risk management system
Adopt a step change throughout the Company as regards Health Safety and Welfare performance and to ensure this is possible through implementation of communication at all levels.

Measurement
Regular monitoring ,auditing and communicating with the workforce
Quarterly audit programme
Consultation

Measurement will be assessed by way of monitoring, and communicating with workforce, on knowledge of subject, knowledge of safe systems of work, risk assessment, statistics, inspections and auditing.

Responsibility
It is the responsibility of all Management to ensure that the objectives are fully embraced in order to achieve the targets, and make the safety consultant aware should there be a possible shortfall in achievement for whatever reason, so this can be reported to the board and a course of corrective action taken.

Safety Policy Statement and Commitment
It is this company’s intention that its work will be carried out in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions and all reasonably practicable measures taken to avoid risk to its employees or others who may be affected. Management and Supervisory staff has the responsibility for implementing this plan throughout the company and must ensure that health and safety considerations are always given priority in planning and day to day supervision of work. All employees are expected to co-operate with the company in carrying out this plan and must ensure that their own work, so far as is reasonably practicable, is carried out without risk to themselves or others.
The company have appointed Mr Jason Haig, Company Health & Safety Consultant, as having particular responsibility for health, safety and welfare and to whom reference should be made in the event of any difficulty arising in the implementation of this plan.
The operation of this plan will be monitored by the management and staff of the company. The Safety Consultant will assist them in this respect by giving advice on the requirements of the relevant statutory provisions, the setting up of safety management systems and safety matters generally, by providing information and training and auditing compliance.
The Company will endeavour to achieve best practice by ensuring continuous improvement.

This statement of company policy will be available at all sites and workplaces for inspection as required. It will also be made available to any employee, sub contractor or client.

Competence - Health and Safety
The company's track record over many years has been, and remains, very good. Our management teams, both in the office and on site, are made up of experienced and qualified staffs that have been with us for many years. Our on-site workforce is very experienced and skilled in their various disciplines.
